 Courtney M. Yarcheck-Gavazzi, Program Director

Courtney Yarcheck-Gavazzi is the Program Director at the Center for Family Research. She has a BS and MS in Human Development and Family Science from the Ohio State University. Courtney is responsible for the daily operations of the CFR and also provides over site for the CFR technology interface with the OSU College of Medicine. Courtney is the co-developer of the Global Risk Assessment Device (GRAD) and has been primarily responsible for the development of GRAD’s companion internet data collection system. She has co-authored several articles specific to juvenile justice including topics on mental health, educational risks and gender sensitive programming. Courtney is married to Steve Gavazzi. They have three boys (Mike, Max and Connor) and dog named Justice.
 Jennifer Bostic, Program Manager

Jennifer Bostic is the Program Manager for The Ohio State University Center for Family Research. Bostic’s primary responsibility at the Center surrounds the GRAD assessment and case management system as well as projects related to the GRAD technology platform. She has over five years of experience in the mental health field and holds licensure as a Professional Counselor within the State of Ohio. Bostic has worked in a variety of roles for several children’s community mental health providers within the state. Bostic’s interest in mental health related issues have expanded to included concerns involving court-involved youth. Bostic served as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Center for Family Research, with responsibilities related to work being conducted for the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services. She has a Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University and a Masters of Arts in Counselor Education from the Ohio State University.

Reena Uppal, Statistical Information Specialist 1

Reena Uppal joined the CFR in February as our newest Statistical Information Specialist. Previously she worked as a Research Associate with Community Research Partners, where she assisted with research on an array of program and policy areas, including health, education, working poor, safety, immigration, housing and community development. Reena holds a Master's in City and Regional Planning and an M.S. in Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics, both from The Ohio State University. She also holds a 5-year diploma in Architecture from India and has 6 years of experience as an architect. Reena is married to Samir Gambhir who works as a GIS and Demographic Analyst at OSU’s Kirwan Institute. Reena loves spending time with her 4-year old daughter Ria. She also enjoys traveling and understanding different cultures and lifestyles.
 Deborah Wasserman, Evaluation Specialist

Deborah Wasserman is a program evaluator and program evaluation researcher working to affect evaluation policy, guidelines, and practice. She arrived at her current research interest from thirty years of experience designing and implementing prevention programs for at-risk youth. As the Director of Evaluation Services and Associate Director of Community Research Partners in Columbus, Ohio, she evaluated a wide range of human services including aging, homelessness, early childhood education, training programs for health professionals, health care delivery systems, and neighborhood programs. As a researcher, she is applying Self-Determination Theory to predict long-term program outcomes. Wasserman received her Ph. D. in Family Science with an emphasis on Program Evaluation from The Ohio State University and a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion from Capital University. Dr. Wasserman is active in the American Evaluation Association where she has held numerous leadership positions.

Emilie Meade, Lead Developer

Emilie Meade is the lead developer for GRADcis. She has over ten years of experience creating dynamic database-driven web applications using Coldfusion and other web technologies with a focus on information design and usability. She has worked with clients ranging from non-profit community foundations to Fortune 500 companies. Meade provides development leadership and guides technical strategy for GRADcis. She also heads technical support and serves as a single point of contact for all technical issues on the GRADcis and customer side. Meade has a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communications/Informational Graphics from Ohio University.
 John Wilkins, Developer

John Wilkins is a developer for CFR applications including GRADcis and EScore. He has several years of experience ranging from developing web sites, holding a position as a Fortune 500 company IT Systems Developer, as well as programming and development experience in academic institutions. Half of John’s time is devoted to development and support of CFR applications. In addition to knowledge of ColdFusion, John has several years of experience with development platforms such as Oracle, .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, PHP, open source platforms, and many others. John has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Business Systems Specialization from Bowling Green State University.
